About the Founder

Patricia Zerbini has been around animals her entire life. She comes from nine generations of animal handlers and care takers. She started working around elephants at the age of eight. This passion grew, and in 1980, she took charge of the family elephants. In 1985 she moved to Williston, FL, and together with her partner Theodore Svertesky, started the Two Tails Ranch.

She has worked with male and female, Asian and African elephants on three different continents. She has done consulting and started care and training programs for many zoos, animal parks and circuses. Her greatest pleasure was when baby elephants were finally born at the farm.

Her passion remains to care for animals she loves. The hope is that these educational programs and clinics will help to ensure the proper care and management of elephants and to instill awareness so that future generations can also come to know, appreciate and love these great giants.
